Join the Fiber Circle!  Bring your portable projects and hang out in the Fiber Circle and enjoy the warm and welcoming sense of community.

The Humboldt Handweavers and Spinners Guild  ( offers a cozy space to relax and work and learn. Education and sharing is always the focus of the Fiber Circle. Come and learn about the many different kinds of fibers  and explore the versatility of each  unique characteristic.  Learn a new skill like spinning, weaving, or knitting or expand on what you already know.

Saturday, September 7th 

11 am       Learn about Tail Spinning at Pan’s Garden Yarn with Brenda
11 am       In the Zombie Yarns booth, Lorna will demonstrate Navajo ply knitting
Noon        Join Margaret for her demo on Rigid Heddle weaving at Spindle & Swift
Noon        At Ace in the Hole learn how to make dreads from wool in the Fleece Market
1 pm         Sunni will demonstrate techniques for making your knitted edges even at YARN
1 pm         At Hope Springs Botanicals it’s hands-on how to make beer cozies with Hope**
2 pm         Above the Fray Josh and Marin will be discussing Silk Dyeing & Weaving in Laos, & Hemp Processing in Vietnam           
2 pm         At the Featured Artist Display Linda Hartshorn will demonstrate how to make plied fringes & hems for handwovens
2 pm         It’s hands-on “Weave a Little” small projects at Ridgewood Fine Woolies**
3 pm         April will demo stenciling on fabric at Sproule Studios
3 pm         At Schaer Place Textiles it’s all about Spindle Spinning from Navajo to Drop w/Lois
4 pm         Diane has many hands-on “Mini Projects” at Double Diamond **
4 pm         John Marshall will discuss & demo Dyeing with Fresh Indigo

 Sunday,  September 8th
11 am       At Spir Glitz, learn how to create textured art bats on a drum carder and hand cards
11 am       Want to “have no fear of spinning cashmere”…  , join Barbara at Love Spun Homespun
11 am       Learn how to pick a fleece w/Janet at Nebo Rock Ranch and Textiles
Noon        Spinning Contest in the Fiber Circle.  Come watch the fun, spin a bit, and laugh a lot!
1 pm         Janis Thompson will be signing her new book at Eugene Textile Center booth
1 pm         April at Sproule Studios will demo Japanese Boro stitching techniques
1 pm         Learn tips on spinning silk hankies on a drop spindle at Annabelle’s Handmade

2pm          Sunni, at Yarn, will demo how to make a stretchy cat on and a stretchy bind off
2 pm         At the Arcata Historical Site Society Display, learn about Traditional Rug Hooking
2 pm         It’s hands-on “Weave a Little” small projects at Ridgewood Fine Woolies**
3 pm         Time for last minute shopping or stop by the Fiber Circle to compare your finds and treasures.
